The Danube makes a journey from the Black Forest to the Black Sea and on his way he meets mankind, as his friend and as his enemy. In this short documentary the Danube will transform from a little stream into a majestic river. The Danube is not only a lifeline meandering through Eastern Europe but is also the connector of cultures and a bridge between past, present and future. In this intimate portrait we will get to know the Danube and his surroundings from a unique perspective; through the eyes and ears of the river itself.
